Tad Hunt - Youth Ministries Leader!

    A short biography about Tad:

I was born In Omaha Nebraska on August 31, 1993.  At the time my dad was a youth pastor. A month later my family moved to Trego Wisconsin, where my dad became the pastor of a small church.  A few years later we moved to Sunnyvale California, where we resided for 7 years.  We lived with my grandma, and made many friends at the church we went to.

In 2004 we moved to Lincoln Nebraska and lived in a small apartment across from Lincoln East High School.  I attended Lux middle school and met the kid who would be my best friend to this day, Jason Obermeier.  Even though I was attending my own church, Jason constantly invited me to events at Good Shepherd.

In 2007 I started my freshman year at Lincoln East High School.  I knew Jason was into music, so I decided to take freshman choir with him.  During my first year at East, I also wrestled.  My sophomore year I dropped wrestling and joined show choir.  Then my junior and senior year I continued with show choir, and joined the upper class choir "Singers.”  In addition to school activities I was heavily involved in my church’s youth group.  I knew God was calling me to do youth ministry when I was older and studied under my youth pastor for a year.

After graduating high school in 2011, I entered Nebraska Wesleyan University.  There I met a ton of good friends and even joined a Christian fraternity "Omega Alpha Chi.” My spiritual life grew immensely as part of that house with its great environment for worship, fellowship, accountability, and discipleship.

After my first year in college however, I had to change schools because I couldn't afford the expense of a private college. I switched to Southeast Community College, where I changed my major more times than I can even recall. I decided to stay with my fraternity at Wesleyan because of the good Christian environment it held.  Also because it was a small fraternity and they needed numbers.

By my third year with Omega Alpha Chi, I was elected to be chaplain, where I served for two years.  In winter 2014 I finally decided on a major, Marketing!  I am studying Marketing as a viable career choice, but my overall goal is to get my seminary degree.

SUNDAY NIGHT WAVE IS A BLAST!! Hope to see you there!
